I'm still giggling a little over this one... this was a conversation over lunch.

Co-worker #1: That's a really cute sweater.
Co-worker #2: Thanks!
Co-worker #1: What's that kind of sweater called?
Co-worker #2: I'm not sure.
Me: I have a knitting pattern for one just like that. It's called a boob tube.
Co-Worker #1: Are you knitting one?
Me: Nah. I don't have anything to put in it.
Boss2: *loudly knocks over stack of dishes*

So I've been working on my defense presentation (for those of you who weren't aware, the shindig opens with me giving a 15-minute lecture to the public, to catch everyone up on the nature of my grand homework assignment).

After working on this presentation for a couple of days, I have reached the conclusion that I am, in fact, teh shit.* Now it just remains to convince my committee of this fact (and my advisor is pretty much convinced already).

Things I am going to do this weekend:
- spend time with friends ([livejournal.com profile] imperfectmedium,[livejournal.com profile] nolemonsnomelon, is that invite to Serenity still open?)
- enjoy lots of attention from Jamie
- ride my bike (weather permitting)
- go for Endless Shrimp at Red Lobster (sorry, [livejournal.com profile] girlintheclouds!)
- take a bubble bath
- panic a little bit practice my speech
- knit (I finished the front of Jamie's sweater the other night!)
- mail out headwarming housewarming presents

Things I am going to do after my defense is over:
- drink
- sleep
- play MarioKart Double Dash
- see [livejournal.com profile] imperfectmedium off at the airport (possibly?)
- buy myself a present (something I don't need, like a video game or a book or some expensive shoes)

*This is, of course, in between those pesky bouts of soul-crippling panic.
