Remember Pepsi's "Cool Cans"? Well, apparently, people who drank way too much pepsi and had way too much time on their hands decided that if you put these two cans on top of each other, it spelled "sex". I don't know, you be the judge.

It's becoming obvious to me that my job is not as stimulating as it could be.

If your job is not as "stimulating" as it could be, and you have sexy soda cans on hand, a solution suggests itself.... ;)

I've actually read that companies do a lot of subliminal marketing with stuff like that. Granted, I read it in Dean Koontz, but whatever else is wrong with the man, he does do his research. I don't know how much of what he writes actually *is* research and how much is made-up extrapolation, but it wouldn't surprise me, from what I know of subliminal perception and the lack of shame among advertisers.

Yeah, but were that the case, wouldn't they want to have "SEX!!" in big letters, while "Drink Pepsi" would be the subliminal message? ;)

I think you're kidding, but my brain is broke right now, so I'll pretend you're serious and say that basically, the point is just to establish a connection between the product and sex. Dean Koontz makes it a little more complicated, but no need to bombard you with questionable information when you totally weren't serious anyway. :)

Did you ever see the Family Guy episode where the tobacco company talked about how they put subliminal ads on TV in the fifties? You see a black-and-white TV show, and then they cut to this unappealing bald man saying, "Smoke!" then back to the show. Then, two seconds later, same guy, "Smoke!" A few seconds later, he's back again: "Are ya smoking yet?"
