Well, since you were all so enthused about my previous post on Poggle the Lesser, I'm back.

Thought for the day: The Astronaut's Wife=teh scary. Or at least at 3 a.m. when you are trying to convince yourself that the noise you hear is, in fact, your upstairs neighbour having a shower and not OMG SOUL-STEALING ALIENS.

In my experience soul-stealing aliens are normally asleep by then. They are most active between the hours of 11pm and 2am.

(Also, I luv you and would have commented on the other entry, but I don't even know who Poggle the Lesser *is*, even after I looked him up. I've seen the movies only once each, so yeah, sorry. Still luv you.)

Hee hee, thanks!

Poggle the Lesser is an extremely minor character in SW. The whole thing is actually kind of an in-joke between me and [livejournal.com profile] nolemonsnomelon (although, as with all good in-jokes, there is always room for one more to join the fun!).

We played Star Wars Trivial Pursuit on Jamie's birthday. Star Wars Trivial Pursuit has a DVD component to winning pie pieces, and for a while it seemed like everyone else was getting easyish questions, while I would be shown a photo of Random!Alien #48212 and asked to identify him/her/it by name. Meanwhile, my teammate Jamie, aka Captain Drunkathon, was proving increasingly inept at answering questions (perhaps not surprisingly, as he was in the process of getting thoroughly shitfaced--it was his birthday, after all), leaving me to fend for myself.

One such Random!Alien was Poggle the Lesser, and many jokes at his expense were made for the remainder of the evening.

Additionally, it must be said that [livejournal.com profile] nolemonsnomelon's Star Wars trivia brings all the boys to the yard.

For the record, though: I answered the final question correctly to win the game for me and Jamie. My hoser boyfriend, by contrast, was lucky he was able to answer the question, "What is your name?" a la SNL Celebrity Jeopardy (http://www.youtube.com/?v=C0rCAP8sl7Y).
