Yagh!

Sometimes I find a halfacricket in my bed, but I don't mind that.

Also, bitchin' icon -- is that from a new site where you can make cartoons of yourself, or did you draw it yourself?

Also, I got your email and was like "OMG SWEETEST EMAIL EVAR" and then λ was actually drifting off to sleep but I woke her up to go "OMG SWEETEST EMAIL EVAR I AM GOING TO READ IT TO YOU NOW OK?" and then we were both really happy about the plans for your visit. But I didn't reply to the email yet, because I suck. (I don't know if λ did or not, but if she didn't, she's been awfully busy between moving and work, so it isn't because *she* sucks. Just me. I always forget to reply to emails, even awesome ones.)

Also, I have been trying to sketch λ lately and have been having only limited success; the things I have been drawing are identifiably λ but basically look like really phenomenally ugly versions of her, which is not good for either of our self-confidence(s? self-confidences?). When you visit do you think you could give me some pointers? I insist on sketching in crayon though.

Re the icon: you can get one here (http://www.faceyourmanga.com/faceyourmanga.php?lang=eng).

Okay, so colouring party is go on Sunday?

My mum says we can all have dinner together when she and J. get back from their 'excursion' (I refuse to use that word without quotation marks) if that is cool with y'all.

Incidentally, I am debating about whether or not a day trip to Martha's Vineyard would be worth my time. Y/N?

I've never cared much about Martha's Vineyard, but that's just because that sort of thing just isn't... my sort of thing. My brother's ex-girlfriend had a summer place out there, and he spent a lot of time there; if you want I can ask him about it.

Sunday is ttly a go.

I'd love to have dinner with your mom. Whither?

It's not really my scene, it just seems likely that two English ladies on bicycles (they are planning to rent some) might get lost or miss the last ferry or what have you without my assistance. If you want to ask your bro on behalf of my mum and aunt though, that would be wicked. I'm not certain if he would be in tune with what two English ladies on bicycles are into, but there you have it.

Re. dinner, my mum figured you guys could probably suggest a place. She reckons they will be back from the Cape at around 6 or 7 that evening. We had talked about going to Pinocchio's because it's sort of a Boston landmark, but I'm sure there are other good places you can recommend.

Two English Ladies on Bicycles should be the title of a charming indie film or something. Also, from the little I know of it I think the entirety of Martha's Vineyard might be more in tune witih what two English ladies on bicycles would like than with what eighteen-year-old Dropkick-Murphy-listening budding alcoholics are into, but who knows. (My point being if he's acquainted with it he may be of necessity acquainted with stuff that would rock your mum's and aunt's socks off.)

Also, man, I love Noke's, but it's kind of a tiny hole-in-the-wall pizza place -- it's definitely a landmark for Harvardites and to a lesser extent Cantabrigians in general, but I'll see if I can think of someplace of equal or greater landmark stature that happens to have more than eight seats. (The first thing that comes to mind is the Union Oyster House, but that's sort of way the hell on the opposite end of the expense spectrum.) My brother works at Cheers and can get us tons of free shit (if you go in there with me, he tends to comp like a little over half of your meal and then give you a bunch of free beer steins and Bloody Mary glasses -- he marks the discount code as, no lie, "DAVES SISTER") but I don't know if that would seem a little too cliched touristy to your mum and aunt?

There are way too many parenthetical expressions in this comment.

I think you underestimate how much my mum loves the tacky. ;)

The Union Oyster House looks awesome--I totally remember seeing that place on television. I think I am going to incorporate it into our two-day Freedom Trail extravaganza, because it is right near Faneuil Hall, yes? Especially since they have lobster (which my aunt is really excited about but my mum is not).

You guys are still totally welcome to come that day and I will treat, but I don't know how you feel about seafood.

I think I suggested Cheers to her and she was kind of lukewarm on it, but she would totally be sold on the free shit because she is cheap. Also I think J. would dig it because she is from a whole other continent and is looking for touristy things to do.

I don't much like seafood in general, but I will eat fish and chips sometimes, and fried clams sometimes. The reason is that I would also probably eat your old bathrobe if you breaded it and deep-fried it. Anyway, λ loves lobster. But that's kind of, um, a lot for you to treat us to, dude. We'll work it out when it gets closer to the date, but if you were going to treat us there I think we should also go to Cheers, where I can save you money and get you free shot glasses. Because I know you need free shot glasses.

(Also, yeah, UOH is right at Faneuil Hall.)

LOL, you wouldn't say that if you saw my old bathrobe. ;)

I know my mum wants to take you guys out one night, so Cheers would be good for her because she doesn't have a lot of cash on the whole. But I know you guys don't either, which is why I thought if you wanted to come to UOH we could probably work something out.

Technically, you would be treating us if we went to Cheers, by getting us all those discounts/free stuff. ;)
